Train Reflections
In a train moving from my past and present toward my present and future; in a situation where here is a temporary, sterile space, and now a pocket of time bounded by departure and arrival times, I—and I alone—perceive myself clearly.
You watch the landscape filmed through the window of a moving train, the destination of no importance, as you observe the round trip projected on the walls of a corridor. As if you were on a train—any train—or on two trains at once. For just a few moments, as you walk through the corridor (between the entrance door and the main hall), the landscape scrolling past your eyes, while you look through the train window to see what lies far away—in those precise moments—you return to yourself, here and now.
Train Reflections is an installation from the Absence series.
